PEER Services assists individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Since 1975, they have utilized FDA-approved medications to help adults through opioid withdrawal. The expert team—which includes a physician, nurses, and counselors—will work with you to design a treatment plan addressing your specific needs. The focus is on helping you return to your maximum level of functioning so that you can live the life you want.
The program employs a holistic approach to treatment. Patients receive education, training and support related to:
- Individual and Group Counseling
- Developing Healthier Nutrition and Exercise Practices
- Managing Pain and Stress
- Managing Conflict
- Strengthening Daily Living Skills
- Enhancing Parenting Skills
Methadone treatment provides those dependent on heroin or other opioids with health, social, and rehabilitation services and medically prescribed methadone. The program’s goals are to relieve withdrawal symptoms, reduce drug cravings, and normalize the body’s functioning.
PEER Services’ team of professionals has extensive medical, clinical, and administrative expertise. Methadone is prescribed by a licensed physician and dispensed by a nurse. Each patient has an individualized treatment plan which includes a combination of individual and group counseling. Each patient works with his or her counselor to set specific goals, which may include employment, education, improved overall health, or other objectives based on the patient’s needs.
-PEER Services is a preferred in-network provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois. Other major insurances that cover outpatient substance abuse treatment are accepted.
-PEER Services accepts All-Kids, Medicaid, and Medicare, and FamilyCare. They also offer treatment scholarships based on household income and number of people supported by that income.

How to Apply
Call 847-492-1778 and ask for Medication-Assisted Treatment Services to begin the intake process. Saturday hours by appointment only. Even if there is a wait list, agency will still try to accommodate individual for intake or possibly services depending upon need.
