The Domestic Violence program serves Polish-speaking survivors of domestic violence who are unable to receive services elsewhere due to a language barrier. The program offers:
-Application assistance for the Crime Victim Compensation Program
-Assistance in filing police reports
-Individual and group counseling
-Assistance in obtaining civil/criminal Order of Protection
-Assistance with Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) self- sponsorship immigration cases
-Referral to legal services
-Assistance in locating available shelter
-Interpretation and translation services
-Staff are bilingual (Polish/English), but services are provided in Polish only.

How to Apply
Call 773- 282-8206 x333 or 773- 282-8206 x331 for an eligibility screening and to schedule an intake appointment. Intake may be conducted at the Polish American Association office, or at a coffee shop or other community location if needed. There is no wait list for services, but priority is given to those in crisis or in need of urgent assistance. A photo ID is requested at intake, but is not required. Services are provided at the main office, but intake may be completed at the Cicero office if needed.
