Group Therapy and Support groups at Center on Halsted are one component of the Center's Mental Health Services. It currently offers on-going therapy groups and time limited therapy groups for individuals working on and making changes in their lives. Additionally, the agency offers time-limited support groups in both the Mental Health and HIV Testing and Prevention departments for individuals seeking support.

Service Options


  • Clients must identify as LGBTQ.
  • Participation in HIV+ groups is free.
    -Groups generally cost $15 per session, but fees may be adjusted or waived for low-income clients who demonstrate need for financial assistance. If a client cannot pay, they should communicate this with staff as early as possible.
  • Cash, credit card or debit card accepted for payment.

Groups are run on 10-week cycles. The Center on Halsted Mental Health Groups website is updated regularly with different contact information for different groups. When that person is contacted, a phone screen is completed. See current Group Offerings.
