Description
The Mental Health Program is designed to meet the diverse emotional and social needs of Asian refugees, immigrants, and other underserved communities. It provides client-centered, culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate services so that clients can achieve independence, lead productive lives and integrate effectively into mainstream society. The program offers:
Adult Mental Health Counseling Services
• For ages 18 and over
• Provides individual, Group, Couple and Family Counseling
• Resolves social adjustment, acculturation, emotional changes, changes in health, and intergenerational conflict
Case Management
• Advocacy and linkage to services and other resources
• Assistance with Medicaid applications and social security applications
• Assistance with Citizenship applications
Psychiatric Services
• Psychiatrists specializing in adult, child and adolescent counseling
• Provides evaluations
• Medication Monitorings
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Counseling Services
• For ages 5-17
• Provides individual and family counseling
• Resolves social, emotional, behavioral and academic problems
Group Services
• Provides a supportive and safe environment for Asian immigrants and refugees and other underserved community members
• Increases self esteem, develop practical life skills, adjustment and acculturation, and psycho-education for various levels of counseling
• Resolves social, emotional, behavioral and academic problems

Eligibility
- For ages 5 and over.
- Psychiatrist and counselors accept Medicaid.
- In order to receive psychiatric services, you must be also receiving case management and/or counseling services at Asian Human Services.
- Sliding scale fee available for those who qualify by income.
- Adult mental health services are available at AHS Uptown and AHS Family Health Center. Child and adolescent mental health services are provided at AHS Uptown, AHS Family Health Center, and AHS Passage Charter School.

There is no wait list to see a counselor. A 2 month waiting list applies to see the psychiatrist.
