Description
UI Hospital's Inpatient Psychiatry Unit is a safe, secure environment designed to treat up to 35 individuals. The inpatient unit is staffed by experienced, full-time psychiatrists. Treatment teams specialize in Mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and women's mental health. After a complete assessment, patients receive treatments including:
- Case management
- Discharge planning
- Family support / education
- Group therapy (mood & anxiety)
- Group therapy (Psychosis)
- Individual therapy
- Medication management

How to Apply
The UI Hospital Emergency Department has crisis psychiatric assessment services available 24/7. To schedule an initial evaluation, call the Urgent Intervention Team at 312-996-2242 pager #3927, or go to the University of Illinois Hospital Emergency Room.
Please bring your current insurance, Medicare, and/or Medicaid card. If you have an HMO plan, you must also bring the completed authorization form from your primary care provider. If possible, please bring the following:
- any current medication
- bottles from past medication
- name and number of primary care provider
- mental health records
