Description
The 24-hour emergency shelter provides women and their children who are escaping abuse with a home-like atmosphere in which to heal and establish self-reliance and dignity for up to 60 days (depending upon individual situation). Care is taken to maintain a culturally appropriate environment and services in a safe, welcoming atmosphere.
While at the shelter, women may take part in counseling, legal advocacy, support groups, parenting classes, conflict management and communication training, art therapy and parent-child cultural and recreational activities.
