The Addiction Center provides comprehensive treatment for adults with substance use disorders. Treatment is based on the 12-step model. Services are based on individual need and include:

-Comprehensive Substance Use Assessment
-DUI Services
-Discharge Planning and Placement
-Educational Seminars and Workshops
-Family Education, Counseling, and Support
-Gambling Assessments and Education
-Individual and Group Counseling
-Introduction to and Participation in 12-Step Support Group
-Medical Assessment and Treatment
-Medical/Medication Monitoring
-Nutritional Assessments
-Peer Support
-Psychiatric Evaluation and/or Medication Management
-Recreational Re-socialization Activities

Program length varies from 10 to 28 days based on patient need and insurance approval. An aftercare program, intensive outpatient treatment, and other services are available to support patients who have completed the inpatient program.

-Must wait 60 days after detox for admission.
-Accepts the following insurance: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, CCAI, County Care, Harmony, Humana, IlliniCare, Medicaid, Medicare, Meridian, and Next Level Health. Insurance benefits will be verified prior to admission. Some insurance plans may require preauthorization.
-Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
-DASA funding may be available for residents of the surrounding community.
-Spanish speaking staff are available for intake, but services are provided in English only.

How to Apply

Call 773-854-5444 or walk in for a preadmission screening and insurance verification. Please bring the following:

-Photo ID
-Insurance card, if applicable
-7 days worth of clothing
-Any prescription medication you are currently taking for a medical condition
-Nicotine gum or patches, if needed. Smoking is not permitted.
-Do not bring cell phones or electronic devices, tobacco, sharp items (e.g., razor, nail file), mouthwash or other items containing alcohol, or more than $20 in cash.

If you are not eligible for inpatient services, you will be referred to outpatient services. If you are eligible, you will be admitted to the program or added to the wait list. You must complete preadmission lab tests and a physical exam and be cleared by the admitting physician prior to admission. Same-day admissions are often possible.
