Description
The Geriatric Psychiatry Program provides a full range of traditional and innovative treatments, including medication, intensive inpatient psychotherapy and outpatient support groups. Specialists work with patients and their families to conduct thorough and accurate mental assessments. A comprehensive medical assessment is also conducted to gain a clear understanding of any coexisting medical problems, such as congestive heart failure, arthritis or Parkinson's disease. An individualized treatment plan is then devised to meet the specific needs of the patient.
Services address a variety of issues older adults may face, including:
- Anxiety
- Behavioral disturbances
- Bereavement and grief
- Depression
- Dementia
- Memory loss

Inpatient psychiatric services may be accessed through the Emergency Department. For inpatient referral appointments, call (312) 942-7046 (24/7).
To schedule an outpatient appointment, call (312) 942-5375, M-F 8:30am-4:30pm.
