Description

SASI offers outpatient services for adults with substance use disorders. The program is based on a 12 step model and includes case management and twice weekly group therapy. Specialized services include:

-Project Safe, a program for parents with DCFS involvement. Services include parent education, couples counseling, and family therapy.
-Specialized Services: Psychiatry, and social work services for clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Eligibility

-Project Safe clients must be referred by DCFS.
-Clients must have insurance. SASI accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, CountyCare, Harmony, IlliniCare, Meridian, Molina, and Next Level Health.
-Target populations include: pregnant and postpartum women, parents, people living with HIV, people involved with the criminal justice system, and those with a dual diagnosis.

How to Apply

Walk ins are accepted, but calling ahead is preferred. Call 312-808-3210 x1 or walk in during business hours for an eligibility screening and to schedule an assessment. You must bring the following documentation:

-Photo ID (driver's license or state ID)
-Proof of Social Security number (Social Security card or printout from the Social Security office)
-Insurance card or medical card,
-Award letter or copy of grant check for SSI, SNAP, TANF, unemployment, or other government assistance, if applicable
-Proof of income (check stub, W-2 form, or employer letter)
-Verification of opiate addiction by another adult
-Medical verification of pregnancy and prenatal care, if applicable

There is not generally a wait list. Clients may often begin services as soon as the next business day.
