Description

Taproots' Family Life Outreach Parenting and Family Enrichment program provides workshops for adolescent and adult parents. Sessions may be scheduled individually or as a series. Workshops address a variety of positive parenting, healthy relationships, and violence prevention issues, including:

-Childhood Development and Parental Expectations
-Bullying- What Parents Should Know
-Positive Discipline & Child Rearing Techniques
-Parenting Goals & Children’s Needs
-Effective Parent / Child Communication and Interaction
-Children’s Health and Safety Issues
-Defining and Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect
-Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention
-Teen Dating Violence – What Parents Should Know
-The Effects of Childhood Exposure to Violence
-Stress, Anger and Time Management
-Financial Planning & Money Management
-Home-Based Adolescent Sexuality Education for Parents
-Self Esteem Building for Parents

An 8-week family violence prevention certificate training program for groups is available. Taproots also offers "You Must Know," a domestic violence awareness and prevention outreach program for community members.
