Description
The Basta! (Enough!) Domestic Violence Program provides a wide range of counseling and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence. The top priority of the program is to keep victims and their vulnerable family members safe. Therefore, on an individual and group basis, staff helps participants in the areas of:
- Crisis intervention
- Safety planning
- Court and legal advocacy
- Gaining access to services
HAS works closely with community partners to link participants with needed resources including children’s services, healthcare, legal assistance, emergency food, and shelter.
The program operates under a trauma-informed, strength-based model that emphasizes empowerment and independent decision making. Participants are given information, encouragement, and support in order to rebuild their lives and achieve safety, self-sufficiency, and peace for themselves and their families.
Services are offered in both English and Spanish and are provided in a caring, supportive, culturally competent environment. The program is completely confidential.

Eligibility
- For survivors of domestic violence.
- Mental health counseling services are charged to client's insurance/Medicaid. If client is uninsured, $15/session fee is assessed.
- All domestic violence counseling is provided at no charge through group therapy.

Referrals also accepted from other social service agencies, court system and Department of Human Services.
Support Group Offerings (prior intake required):
Wednesday: 9:30am-11:30pm (English)
Thursday: 10:00am-12:00pm (Spanish)
Friday: 10:00am-11:00am (English/DCFS Cases Only)
Domestic Violence Court Advocate is stationed at Domestic Violence Court on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30am-4:30pm, ask for X855 when calling 773-745-7107. Advocate will accompany client to court on another day if return visit is needed. Bi-lingual speaking.
